Hey everyone.

So, just so you know, I am alive, actually. So far. I'm just getting adjusted and not having a computer. So I'm using my roommates. hah. this sucks, actually. I am in complete internet withdrawl. but hopefully I'll get my comp up and going sooner or later.

I think this is going to be a fun year, I found out what school I'm going to be at and I'm incredibly bored with all of this taining (reallly realllly long powerpoints) And I just got over being sick all weekend. Buuuttt.

Ooo, and this is my funness random fact: I got to paint part of the case that John Lennon's guitar is going to be displayed in. oooo, ahhhhh. Because I spent my entire weekend painting things for the peace museum. And I didn't have to, but who can resist saying that they spent 10 hours working at a museum full of hippie memorobilia? It's not all hippie memorobilia. Really. It's got this really cool exhibit of iraqi art straight from baghdad which i haven't actually seen yet, but i painted the walls that it is currently hung on, yep yep yep.

Ooookkkaay, I'm rambling. So, maybe I'll get on sooner than three weeks from now. Or maybe not.

I leave tomorrow, I'm packed, I'm excited, I'm not even all that nervous.

I am really tired, though. I haven't moved since I was five, I forgot how much work it was. and I'm not even properly moving, my room would barely look like there was anything missing to someone who hadn't seen it before!

yeah. anyway.

I'm mostly just sort of sitting around. I move on Friday. gulp.

and... it's storming out, so I should really get off the computer, but... I was looking forward to this long pointless computer session so hopefully I don't fry this computer for the second time.

This is officially maybe the most pointless entry I have ever written.

Oh. Tuning hammered dulcimers sucks. Just in case you ever find yourself having to tune one. And it stays tuned for maybe half an hour and then you have to go back and tune all 80+ strings over again. People keep telling me that's just cos it's new, and it'll start holding tune better and it sure better be true.

Fun to play tho.

Yeah, I geuss really... that's all I have to say. A little pathetic, hmm? I've been lazing around the house until finally today, my dad (who can't stand lazers, and is responsible for my inability to stay in bed past 10:30... and, actually, my vague sense of guilt for staying up past 1 or so, because then I still have to get up by 10:30, or else I feel like a pathetic waste of humanity and I know that I'll be tired if I stay up till 3 or 4 and only get 6 hours of sleep) But. ANYWAY, my dad decided that I need to paint things. So, that's what I'm doing now. But it's okay. Painting things is nice and relaxing. Just one color, filling in huge spaces red (because enerything he has me paint is red, for some reason)

I need to go to bed. This thing is hopelessly rambling. And, obviously that wasn't all I had to say. Oh Well.

I'm Bored

So it was nice for a while, just sitting around the house, but then you start to feel a little pathetic and you get bored. I spent yesterday in a Benadryl haze rubbing my eyes and blowing my nose and today I got bored and loaded a whole bunch of songs on my ipod (Over a 1000!) and cut my hair! Like, I literally cut my hair. With a mirror. So, it's um... shorter. But not that short still. but it was possibly a bigger change than should really be done with a pair of siscors (how do you spell that??) and a mirror. So it's bigger now :) Big hair Sarah.

Anyway, France was great, I've been back for a little over a week and I keep having dreams that I'm still there and waking up dissapointed. It was good to see everyone again though, and I'm glad that I got back while I could still take toothpaste on the plane.

Monday I'm going to Chicago, hopefully for the last time until I move. grrrrrr. at least this time I actually know how many bedrooms to look for, (which I didn't last time).

And. Well. That's about it. Life is not real exciting, but I'm kinda enjoying it. What I'm really looking forward to is when Ian has to go back to school. I'm going to follow him all the way out to the bus, taunting him mercilessly. OF course, then I'd have to actually get up in time to do that. So maybe I'll meet him when he gets home. But it'll be fun, whatever I do.

you all need to start getting on the internet at three in the afternoon your time. yesssss. you do. my yahoo messenger is always abandoned. Makes me sad.

anyway, still having fun here, did... um... stuff? I can't believe I\ve been here a week, on one hand it seems so much longer, on the other it's a lot shorter than it feels like. haha, that made no sense, just trust me.

France is playing the the World Soccer cup finals and I think it'll be totally awesome if they win. They get totally into it. and drunk. which is a funny combination to watch. Ive never cared so much about sports, and it isnt even my country, hah.

am not picking up much more french. but I have stopped getting lost as often.

Note on my currently listening: they all listen to a lot of music in English, and reggae is really popular, I think it\s funny.

they also have loads of shirts in english for sale. which is frustrating, cos I want a shirt in french. sigh.

I'm in France!

I'm such an awful tourist. I just smile and nod and say "merci" and "bonjour" a lot and Ive perfected my deer-in-the-headlights-I-don't-speak-French look. Usually it works. Altough yesterday I had some guy no get it and keep talking to me. so I had to stumble through "uh... No parle.... uh... je ne parle... jen parle pa franswa... er... francais." It was pretty awful. hah. He knew english, though. I could have jsut said that I didn't speak french. But they'd probably appreciate it if you try. I know I would.

anyway, this place is pretty neat, it's really old and the cars barely fit on the streets going one way, and it wasn't built on a grid because it is so old so the streets are all crazy every which way. I've been lost a lot, but only once after curfew, so it's okay, I geuss.

the flight was pretty long, but we made it (with an unscheduled landing! How exciting is that?) actually, it was just cos there was a brush fire and they weren\t letting people land and it turned out to be pretty boring, but oh well.

so far we've gone canoeing, sightseeing, shopping, and to classes.

the big news was when France won the quarter finals in the world cup. I ran out when they won and watched all the traffic go by with screaming people hanging out the windows and waving french flags and honking horns. so that was pretty fun to watch, we're all hoping they win the next game on wednesday and get into the final game, cos it'd be pretty cool if they won while we were here.

It\s really really hot here. I am going to buy a skirt (yes! A \SKIRT!) and a purse, too, jsut cos it's annying carrying everything around.

gtg, in an internet cafe, and two minutes off paying another euro!

I just went to the last D'Arlier meeting, and I'm so excited about France right now. And then I got home and checked my email, and there's still at least two people in City Year looking for roomates, so that's going to be okay, hopefully, and I'm going up to Chicago on Wednesday, and hopefully by the time I leave for France (on Thursday!) I'll have a lease signed and I can stop stressing over the whole thing.

I know you all are pretty bored of those two things if you actually read this thing anymore (or talk to me at all, I geuss, cos that's probably all I talk about) but that's whats been consuming my life lately, that and making my Dulcimer, which is almost done! Hurrah! It doesn't have strings, but me and dad have decided that since stringing it isn't really woodworking, he can do it and turn it in for 4H. I feel bad leaving him with it, cos stringing and tuning the thing sounds pretty miserable (it has over 100 strings!) but... um... well. I can deal with guilt.

And I have 621 songs on my ipod. I have been uploading like mad. It's kinda slow going, but it's extremely satisfying to scroll through my song list after I add 50 songs and see how it's grown. I'm such a dork.
